Which remedies can you use at home?
1. Apple Cider Vinegar
This is a magical liquid that can be used for so many things around the house. It will also help your dog’s ear infection. The acetic acid in the vinegar will remove the dirt from his ears and also kill yeast or bacteria that causes the infection. Try to avoid vinegar when the dog’s ears are red from the infection. It will hurt him. Mix the vinegar with water and administer through a syringe or rub it on gently with a cotton ball.
2. Macerated garlic
This works well for mild infections. You can make your own remedy by steeping garlic cloves in olive oil. Use about 2 cloves and let the mixture sit for 2 weeks. After you have strained the mixture, you can pour a few drops into the infected ear. You can continue this until the infection clears up.
Mullein is a plant that has antibacterial properties. It is very effective in treating ear infections. It is easy to make your own remedy with the dried leave. You can buy dried mullein leaves at your local health shop. Making the remedy is simple. Pack some leaves in a jar and cover it with olive oil. You can also add garlic for extra effectiveness. Allow the mixture to sit for about 2 weeks and strain. You can then apply drops to the infected ears.
4. Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe Vera is another natural miracle plant that has many healing properties. Using warmed Aloe Vera gel will help cure the redness and irritation caused by ear infections. It will soothe the pain and scratchiness.
5. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has a lot of great properties including that it is antibacterial and anti-fungal. It has proven to be effective in healing for both humans and animals. To make your own remedy, warm the oil until it is liquid. You can add some garlic for extra effectiveness. Allow it to cool a bit so it doesn’t burn your dog’s ears. Use a dropper or a cotton ball to apply a few drops in each ear. Repeat 2 to 3 times a day for about a week.
