5 Ways to Naturally Get Rid of Fleas on Dogs

Use baking soda or Borax – Sprinkle baking soda or Borax on your carpets and work it into the carpet with a broom. Allow it to stand for a bit and keep your pets away as they may lick it and get sick. After you have left it for a while, thoroughly vacuum the carpets to get rid of all the dead eggs, fleas, and larvae as well as the baking soda or Borax. These powders smother the fleas and it is a good way to clean your home and keep fleas away from your dogs.

Lemon Spray – Citrus also helps to repel fleas. Make a flea repellent by cutting a lemon into quarters and covering it with boiling water. Let it steep overnight and put in a spray bottle in the morning. Spray your dog with this and be careful around the eye area. Try to spray areas like the ears, around the tail, and under the legs as well. Alternatively, you can just rub the juice of a lemon on the dog’s fur if they don’t like the spray.

Eucalyptus – Eucalyptus has a strong smell and can be useful in keeping fleas out of your home. Leave some jars or stems all around the house, especially in the rooms where your dog spends a lot of time. It is said that the eucalyptus will repel the fleas.
